Is there a way to test the SDE overcurrent trip switch on PowerPacT circuit breakers?
Issue:
How is the SDE tested in PowerPacT breakers?
Product Line:
Circuit Breakers
Resolution:
The SDE overcurrent trip switch contacts are activated ONLY when the Micrologic trip unit causes the breaker to trip from an overload, short circuit, or ground fault. Therefore, the function of the SDE can be tested by tripping the breaker with primary or secondary injection testing. The SDE cannot be tested by pressing the red trip button, nor can it be tested by tripping the breaker with a shunt trip or undervoltage trip accessory.
