Issue
Can not connect an external device to the Simulator
Product line
Control Expert, Unity Pro
Resolution
If the simulator launches without error but you can not connect using the external device, one possible reason is that you have multiple NIC cards.
If the Unity Pro Simulator is running on a PC with multiple options for a network connection, it might not be tied to the address that you desire. If after launching the simulator you hover over the simulator icon in the tray at the bottom of your screen, you will see the address that is assigned to it. You can also see the assigned Ip address on the simulator operator panel. If it is linked to the incorrect adapter, close the simulator, turn off that adapter and launch the simulator again.
The remote device needs to connect to the Ip address that is assigned to the simulator and the simulator Ip will be the same as the HOST NIC that it binds to.
