How to test a molded case circuit breaker without trip curves.

Issue:
Trip curves are not available, how do I test the circuit breaker?

Product Line:
Circuit Breakers

Environment:
Molded Case and ICCB

Resolution:
In the absence of trip curves, it is recommend the breaker be tested against the current version of NEMA standards publication AB 4, and use test procedures 6.5 (Inverse-Time Over Current Trip Test) and 6.6 (Instantaneous Over Current Trip Test) where maximum single pole trip times are published to ensure circuit protection.  This document is copyrighted, so it cannot provide from our public website, however it can be downloaded for free from nema.org  at the following link.  Creating an account on the nema.org may be required.
