Can the Altivar 320 (ATV320) Run a Motor Above 60 Hz?

Resolution:

Yes. The Altivar 320 (ATV320) can operate a motor above 60 Hz if the application and motor are designed to support higher speeds.

To configure the drive:

  1. Navigate to CONF > FULL > SIM-.
  2. Set tFr (Maximum Frequency) to a value greater than 60 Hz.
  3. In the SIM- menu, set HSP (High Speed) to the desired operating frequency.
  4. Ensure that HSP does not exceed the tFr value.

Note: Before increasing the operating frequency above 60 Hz, verify that the motor and driven equipment are rated for the higher speed to avoid equipment damage or unsafe operation.
