Yes. This can be set up in a standalone configuration using a BMEH58x040 and then the other half can be added without interrupting the process.
No special steps need be taken, when the new hardware arrives, hook it all up and power up. If the new M580 has the same version firmware it will automatically receive the project from the primary when powered up.
