Why Can’t I Connect SoMove Software to a Process Drive When It Displays STO?

Resolution:

StO (Safe Torque Off) is a safety function that prevents the drive from operating. When the drive is in the StO state, it cannot be controlled by any operating interface, including SoMove software. As a result, SoMove cannot establish a connection to the drive while StO is active.

How to resolve the issue:

  • If you removed only the factory-installed jumper from the P24, STOA, and STOB terminals and are not using an external safety contact, reinstall the jumper.
  • For control wiring, use the 24V terminal instead of P24.

Once the StO condition is cleared, you should be able to connect to the drive using SoMove software.
