Environment
Front Panel or remote display

Cause
Need to perform resets that allow clearing all data of a particular type (Global Reset) or clearing data only in a specific register (Single Reset) on the PM5000 series meter via the front panel.

Resolution

Performing a Global Reset using the display:

  • Navigate to Maint > Reset.
  • Move the cursor to Global Reset, then press Select.
  • Move the cursor to the parameter you want to reset, then press Reset.
  • Enter the reset password (default is 0), then press OK.
  • Press Yes to confirm the reset or No to cancel and return to the previous screen.

Note: Global resets clear all data of a particular type, such as all energy values or all minimum/maximum values.

Performing a Single Reset using the display:

  • Navigate to Maint > Reset.
  • Move the cursor to Single Reset, then press Select.
  • Move the cursor to the parameter you want to reset, then press Reset.
    • If there are additional options for the parameter, press Select, move the cursor to the desired option, then press Reset.
  • Enter the reset password (default is 0), then press OK.
  • Press Yes to confirm the reset or No to cancel and return to the previous screen.

Note 1: Single resets clear data only in a specific register or register type. Single resets are often combined to allow you to clear all data of a similar type, for example, a kWh, kVAR and kVA reset may be combined into an energy reset that clears all of the meter’s energy logs.
Note 2: Accumulated Energy Value will automatically reset at 9,223,372,036,854,775,807 Wh, and there is no register to store the old energy value after it resets.
