Troubleshooting issues with ERMS switch
Issue:
ERMS doesn't work properly

Product Line:
Masterpact NW, NT; Powerpact P, R frames

Resolution:
  1. Set IO module to application 3, and Unlocked.
  2. Ensure wiring is correct per attached bulletin, page 19.
  3. Follow test procedure beginning on page 16
Further steps that can be taken are:
  1. Power-cycle the IO module. (Do this step for sure if ERMS doesn't work properly after FW upgrades to the BCM)
  2. When power is restored, press the TEST button on the IO module.
The trip unit backlight should flash 1 sec. ON and 1 sec. OFF, and the LED on the IO should flash as well.
  3. If the input light I4 does not come on, put a jumper between terminals I4 and C to ensure it is getting a good signal.
Then remove that jumper and place it on terminals 15 and C to turn maintenance mode ON.  Light O3 should come on also when I5 and C are jumpered.
If it works with the jumpers but not with the switch, the switch is either bad or mis-wired.
  4. Ensure the IO input lights correspond to the switch (or jumper) positions, and that the O3 (34-35) lights come on when maintenance mode is ON.
