Why Is the Current Limitation Function on My ATV71 Drive Not Limiting Motor Current?
Resolution:
The Current Limitation (CLI) function becomes inactive if it is configured below the motor's no-load current. In this condition, the drive cannot effectively control motor operation and will not apply current limiting as expected. Incorrect motor parameter settings can also prevent the Current Limitation function from operating properly.
Verify the following settings:
1.- Current Limitation (CLI)
- Ensure the CLI value is set higher than the motor's no-load current.
- If CLI is set too low, the function will be inactive.
2.- Motor Rated Current
- Confirm that the motor rated current parameter matches the value on the motor nameplate.
3.- Motor Thermal Current
- Verify that the motor thermal current setting is correctly configured according to the motor nameplate data.
Accurate motor parameter configuration is essential for proper operation of the Current Limitation function. If the Current Limitation function is not operating as expected, review all motor nameplate settings and verify that the configured CLI value is appropriate for the application and motor characteristics.
