How can I wire multiple ATV320's to one E-Stop button?

Issue:
Wire multiple ATV320's to one E-Stop button.

Product Line:
Altivar 320

Environment:
All

Cause:
Wiring guidance

Resolution:
To connect an emergency stop button to multiple ATV320 drives an external power supply is required. Each drive generates his P24, but you cannot connect the P24 of one drive to another. You could have a disturbance.
All digital inputs must also be supplied an external 24V due to the COM terminal block that is common to STO and DIx inputs, even if the DIx inputs are not define as safety inputs.

To connect an emergency stop with safety module, you should wire the circuit similarly to the wiring diagram on page 70 of the ATV320 Safety Functions Manual.

Without a safety module you should wire as the wiring diagram on page 71 of the ATV320 Safety Functions Manual.
