Error message “Catalog Building failed” reported importing a CPX file via the Hardware Catalog Manager.

From Unity Pro Version 8.1 and greater versions (next Ecostruxure Control Expert versions included) the catalog manager generates device DDT descriptions for imported user devices (EDS). These descriptions are stored inside a new specific file format part of the CPX file. This could be a problem when importing a CPX file build on Hardware Catalog Manager version Unity Pro V8.1 or greater using an Hardware catalog Manager version Unity Pro V8.0 and earlier versions.
Problem is that the Hardware Catalog Manager linked to Unity Pro version V8.0 and earlier doesn’t support this specific file format and throws an exception on building the catalog.

Possible workaround.
Identify the EDS files involve, don’t select them when importing the CPX file and add them directly using their EDS files.
