What can cause an EEFI [EEPROM Control] Fault on an ATV340 series drive?
Resolution:
An EEFI fault on an ATV340 series drive indicates an issue with the drive’s EEPROM (internal control memory). This fault is often related to environmental interference, corrupted stored data, or a hardware-related problem affecting memory integrity.
Possible Causes
- Electromagnetic interference (EMI) or poor grounding
- Power disturbances during operation or startup
- Corrupted configuration data stored in the drive
- Internal control hardware failure
Resolution Steps
Check the environment
Verify that the installation meets electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) requirements, including proper grounding and shielding.
Power-cycle the drive correctly
Switch off the drive
Wait until the display turns off
Wait an additional 15 seconds
Power the drive back on
Restore factory settings (if safe to do so)
Reset the drive to factory defaults only if you have a backup of the configuration saved in SoMove or an HMI.
