What causes an OSF, Mains Overvoltage fault on the ATV340 drive?
Possible Causes:
- Incoming supply voltage exceeding the drive’s rated limits at L1, L2, and L3
- Incorrect transformer tap settings resulting in elevated line voltage
- Power quality issues on the supply side, including voltage spikes or transients
- Line disturbances or switching events causing brief overvoltage conditions
- Harmonics or unstable supply contributing to DC bus overcharging
- DC bus voltage (PA to PC) exceeding the expected ~1.41 × line voltage
- Regenerative energy from the motor during deceleration
- Rapid deceleration or short ramp times generating excess energy in the DC bus
- Overhauling or high-inertia loads feeding energy back into the drive
- Absence of a braking resistor or insufficient braking capacity
- Improper grounding or installation contributing to voltage instability
- Utility supply fluctuations, particularly during low-load conditions
