How Do I Wire a Speed Potentiometer to an Altivar Process Drive?

Resolution:

A speed potentiometer (speed pot) typically has three terminals:

  • Center terminal (wiper): Connect to the desired analog input on the drive (AI1, AI2, or AI3). This terminal provides the speed reference signal.
  • One outer terminal: Connect to the drive's +10 VDC supply.
  • Other outer terminal: Connect to COM (common).

This wiring configuration allows the potentiometer to generate a variable analog signal that the Altivar Process drive uses as a speed reference.
