How user can overcome the error message “Following type already exists in global constituent with different signature but with same version” in Process Expert

Goals and Symptoms:

This Knowledgebase explains about the error message “Following type already exists in global constituent with different signature but with same version”

Facts and Changes:

This document can be referred for any EcoStruxure Hybrid DCS / EPE version

Causes and Fixes:

For creating multiple templates using the same DFB, its mandatory to use the DFB exported from the same database. The below error message pop-ups when the user manually match the DFB version and tries to save while doing templatization.
Image of the error
Means, same DFB with the same version has been used by another template, the version of the new DFB added also has the same version, but the version has been matched manually. If the version is modified manually, the EHDCS/EPE system considers this as a different object instead of a single object and throws the error message.
Follow below best practices to avoid this error message.
1. Don't change the DFB version once it is imported to the database
2. Try to keep a different name for DFBs for creating multiple templates.
3. If the user wants to use the same DFB for multiple templates, always create the DFBs from same database/Control Export and export to another machine.
