Why is the MS flashing red and NS flashing green on my BMECRA31210?

Article available in these languages: Spanish

Issue
The BMECRA31210 module will not communicate to the M580 and with no Ethernet cables is still indicates a flashing red MS and flashing green NS.

Product line
Modicon M580, Modicon X80

Resolution
The flashing red MS indicates a minor fault that should be recoverable.  The above condition could  indicate an invalid address set on the switches. Try rotating each switch all the way around and back to 0 for the Tens and 1 (or drop address) for the Ones. If it does not recover, you could remove the Ethernet cable from the CRA for this test because the goal initially is to get rid of the red MS flashing and after that, attempting communication.
