Product Line
Power Monitoring Expert 7.2.2
Power Monitoring Expert 8.2

Environment
OPC Servers

Cause
The issue is caused because the device that is being added is using a custom driver. The OPC update server option is only for default native drivers.

Resolution
To resolve the issue, you must open the custom driver in the MDI (Modbus Device Importer) and follow the steps below

  1. Expand the Manager tree
  2. Right click on the module folder you wish to expose to OPC and then click on "OPC..."
  3. Select the measurements and then Click on file
  4. Under file select export.
  5. After the export go back to Management Console and click on the "Update OPC Server" again under tools

management console

This time the "Update OPC Server" option will discover the device's measurements that were previously not exposed.
