Will be running an M580 Hot Standby controller in Standalone. Is an SFP module required?

No. Run Primary and an EIO ring can be attained without the SFP. Local IO can not be configured in the Hot Standby controllers.
**** Please note that when an M580 Hot Standby controller is run in Standalone, CCOTF functionality is not available. ****

In addition to the following limitations:
- Longer boot up times
- No support for IO modules in the local rack
- No support for Global Data Module
- No support for Profibus Module
- BMXNOM0200 can not be used in CPU rack
- No Stop/Start bit
Basically all of the rules for Hot Standby CPUs still apply, the above list is not all inclusive.
