How do you set up ramp switching on an ATV340 drive?

Resolution:

Ramp switching allows the drive to alternate between two sets of acceleration and deceleration times based on:

  • A digital input or communication signal, or
  • A frequency threshold
  1. Set the primary ramps
    Under Simply Start:
    1. ACC → Acceleration time (Ramp 1)
    2. DEC → Deceleration time (Ramp 1)
  2. Configure ramp switching
Go to: Complete Settings → Generic Functions → Ramp Switching
    1. RPS (Ramp Switching Assignment): Assign a logic input (LI1–LI6) or communication control to activate Ramp 2
  3. Set the secondary ramps
    1. AC2 → Acceleration time (Ramp 2)
    2. DE2 → Deceleration time (Ramp 2)
    3. When the RPS input is active, the drive uses AC2 / DE2.  When inactive, it returns to ACC / DEC
  4. (Optional) Use frequency-based switching
    1. FRT (Ramp Threshold Frequency)
      1. If set > 0 Hz:
        • Below FRT → ACC / DEC (Ramp 1)
        • Above FRT → AC2 / DE2 (Ramp 2)
If RPS (logic input) is active, it overrides the FRT setting. The drive will use Ramp 2, regardless of motor speed.

Use:

  • RPS for external control (e.g., process signals)
  • FRT for automatic switching based on speed

Test the configuration to ensure smooth transitions between ramps.
