Issue:
Which is the neutral pole on a four pole Masterpact NW breaker?
Product Line:
Circuit breakers
Resolution:
The neutral is typically and by default on the left side of the breaker. However, it is possible to order it with the neutral on the right side. It is not possible to change from one side to the other once the breaker is built.
The extra pole added to the typical 3p module is always on the left, but on a right-pole neutral breaker, this pole becomes the right pole and the neutral is on the right.
The switch for setting neutral protection will always be on the left, but it sets protection for the neutral even if the neutral is on the right. Possible settings are OFF, N/2, N, or 1.6N.
Note that for the MTZ, there is no dial; all the N protections are set via the Micrologic control unit.
