Is an PDM power supply required after an STBCPS2111 in an Advantys Island?
Issue
The Advantys Configuration Software (ACS) documentation states, "NOTE: a PDM is required after a CPS module", although the ACS software does not error or prompt a warning when a PDM is not included in the configuration.

Resolution
A Power Distribution Module (PDM) is not always required after an STBCPS2111.
The documentation incorrectly states that a PDM is required.
The PDM distributes either AC or DC field power to a cluster of I/O modules directly to its right on the Island bus. A PDM delivers field power to the input modules and the output modules. It is important that all the I/O installed directly to the right of a PDM be in the same voltage group—either 24 VDC, 115 VAC, or 230 VAC.
