Is it ok for a GFI ground fault receptacle to be used downstream of a CAFI or AFI arc fault circuit breaker?
Issue:
Is it ok for a GFI ground fault receptacle to be used downstream of a CAFI or AFI arc fault circuit breaker? Will they interfere with each other?
Product Line:
Circuit Breakers
Resolution:
Yes, it is ok for a GFI receptacle to be used downstream of a CAFI or AFI arc fault circuit breaker. One does not interfere with the operation of the other.
NOTE: Depending on the situation, we suggest considering use of the DF dual function circuit breaker. This breaker combines CAFI arc fault protection with GFI ground fault protection in one breaker. This would eliminate the need for a downstream GFI receptacle.
