How do I choose a Pressure Switch for Salt Water application?
Issue:
How do I choose a Pressure Switch for Salt Water application?

Product Line:
Digest 177 Section 22 : Pressure, Vacuum and Float switches

Environment:
North American Products

Cause:
Needs to chosse the correct product for Salt Water application.

Resolution:
Salt water will corrode steel flanges and fittings. The best flange would be plastic, with 316 stainless as an alternative. All of our diaphragms are currently compatible with salt water applications. For other applications, the 9013 Type F`s with a salt water flange( Form Q) and with a plastic housing may be sufficient.

However Please note:
Where the enclosure is exposed, a NEMA 4X will offer the most protection.
