Cause:
A 3-phase SPD is needed for a 120/240V single-phase system.
Resolution:
The recommended device for this application is the SDSA1175. Alternatively, the SDSA2040 can be used to provide better protection for components rated for the 120/240V voltage system. Connect the two black leads to one phase and the other black lead to the other phase. The white neutral wire must be connected to the neutral bar. If there is no neutral in the panel, then the SPD neutral should be connected to ground.
