Can you have a normally open and a normally closed contact in each position on a 9001 K joysticks?

No. Even though normally open 9001KA2 and normally closed 9001KA3 contacts are used on the joystick, they are all held open in the center position and will only close when the joystick is moved out of the center position. You can stack contacts and get 2 contact closures in each position, but you cannot get a contact closure in the center position.
