Resolution:
The AFI is a UL listed circuit breaker designed to mitigate the effects of arcing faults. It is required by UL to protect against arcs between current carrying conductors above 75 A (Square D AFI protects from arcs above 50 A), and may trip on leakage to ground with a minimum threshold of 30 to 50 mA.
The GFI is a circuit breaker UL listed for interrupting the circuit when more than 6 mA of ground fault leakage is detected.
