ATV320 Using a load reactor, motor filter or motor choke with multiple Motors.

Issue:

Would multiple load reactors, chokes or filters be required when connecting more than one motor to the output an Altivar AC Drive or Process Drive?

Cause:

Multi motor application using motor filters / chokes.

Resolution:

In general the choke must be connected closest to the drive to have the best efficiency (less leakage current, …)

Per Level 3 in France, it is always recommended, per below, to use only one reactor, filter or choke for all motors.

Example below from ATV71, applies the other Altivar and Altivar Process Product Lines as well.

As you can see multiple chokes or filters will decrease the Efficiency of each motor.
