Can I wire an X Series outlet or receptacle without a ground wire connection?

No. Building codes require that all 3 prong outlets must be connected to ground.
However, if your home was built before ground wires were required, the receptacles will work but not be grounded. All local codes must be followed. Please refer to the connected home offer for more details.
