What can cause the ATV930 Drive to loose its motor torque if the motor is running in generator mode?

Issue:

ATV930 Drive to loose its motor torque if the motor is running in generator mode?

Product Line:

ATV930 or ATV960 enclosed

Environment:

All

Cause:

Motor has no torque in generator mode.

Resolution:

Check the programming to make sure that the torque limiting setting (TLA) is not turned ON and if its turned ON check to see what the generator torque percent is set to. If the generator torque percent is 0% the motor will not have any torque.

Also note that if the Drive is in generator mode it may be required to add a DC bus braking resistor or the drive can trip on over braking fault or dc bus overvoltage fault.
