How do I configure an ATV320 drive for mixed control using terminals and Modbus?

Resolution:

To set up the ATV320 for mixed control (Terminals + Modbus), follow these key steps:

  1. Configure the control mode

    • Set CHCF = SEP (Separate mode) to allow independent command and reference sources.
  2. Assign the command source

    • Set Cd1 = Terminals to control start/stop via terminal inputs.
  3. Set the speed reference source

    • Assign Ref1 = Modbus so the speed reference is received via Modbus communication.
  4. Configure terminal input

    • Set LI1 = Forward (2-wire control) for basic run command functionality. (This is a default value)

This configuration enables:

  • Start/stop control through terminal wiring
  • Speed reference control via Modbus communication
