Verifying if it is possible to overload a transformer up to 25% without damaging the transformer nameplate rating.

Resolution:

It depends on the temperature rise. A standard 150C temperature rise Transformers have no overload capacity (OLC). 115C rise units have a 15% OLC. 80C rise units have a 30% OLC.

So the answer is No for 150C rise and 115C rise units, and Yes for 80C rise units.
