Can you read or access RSTP status data over Ethernet on ATV600 or ATV900 drives?
Resolution:
RSTP (Rapid Spanning Tree Protocol) is supported on ATV600 and ATV900 Process drives with Ethernet capability, but it is important to understand its limitations.
What Is Supported
- The drives (e.g., ATV900 or ATV600 with VW3A3720 Ethernet option card) are compatible with RSTP-enabled networks.
- They can communicate and operate correctly with other RSTP devices such as:
- Network switches
- PLCs
- Other Ethernet-based equipment
What Is Not Supported
- The drives do not provide access to RSTP status information over Ethernet.
- You cannot read, monitor, or control RSTP data (such as topology status, port states, or network diagnostics) through the drive.
