Should the plastic flags (black plastic dividers) on the interior inserted on the notches of the H-frame main breaker?

Product Line:

NQ Panelboard

Environment:

NQ/NF Panelboard

Cause:

Customer has a Powerpact H-frame breaker that is installed in the N150MH adapter kit and having hard time for it to fit plastic dividers.

Resolution:

The hard bus connectors and main breaker pan insulator are used on both the H-Frame and J-Frame, these two breakers are different lengths. The flags engage J but not on H-frame. The image in the instruction bulletin is of a J-Frame breaker, which is longer. The flags on H-Frame do not engage the breaker, they end up short. The reason that the hard bus connectors are notched as they are is to provide through air space between phases since the insulators don't fill the gap.
