Cause:
The Brain Dead procedure performs a reset of the UPS microprocessor. This is useful for basic troubleshooting to attempt to clear any alarms. It does not however reset saved preferences.

Resolution:

  1. Turn off any connected load.
  2. Turn off the UPS using the LCD Display, and disconnect the AC input.
    • For hardwired units, refer to the User Manual - Deenergizing safety.
  3. Turn off the internal battery module using the Battery On/Off switch (located on the front of each battery module)
    • Turn off the battery modules using Battery On/Off switch in any external battery packs connected to the UPS.
  4. Reconnect the internal and any external batteries, reconnect AC input, and turn the UPS on using the LCD Display.

Note: Refer to the UPS Operation Manual for how to turn the UPS and the batteries on or off.
