How can we help you today?

Can you discard the strap that holds the coil of a Low voltage Dry type transformer?

Issue:

Received a transformer with the core strap broken Part number EXN112T3H

Product Line:

LV Transformers

Environment:

Applies to all Low Voltage Transformers by SquareD/Schneider Electric

Cause:

Broken transformer Core strap assembly

Resolution:

Those bands hold the core during production and are not necessary once the tie bars are installed.

The plant usually leaves them in place since there is no need to remove them.

They also get weak during shipment

But yes, they can be removed and discarded, being careful not to get cut on a sharp edge. When doing this, we strongly suggest that the operator has gloves and safety glasses on during removal and disposal.
