Smart UPS Modular Ultra display remains blank

Issue:

The UPS display is blank and will not respond

Environment:

All models, all serial numbers


Resolution:

If the display is blank on startup or after a display/NMC reboot and the NMC status LED (behind the door to the right of the display) is:

  1. solid orange, this usually means the display firmware is stuck in a boot loader.  This can be resolved by pressing the reset button in the pinhole until the LED starts flashing a different color (approximately for 20 seconds) to reset to factory defaults.
  2. on and doing something other than indicating solid orange, the wrong firmware is most likely installed on the display.  Check the currently installed NMC/Display firmware on the UPS via the console port to the right of the display.  After, please install the correct NMC/Display firmware
  3. completely off, check the connections to the back of the display.  The mini HDMI cable might be disconnected.  You may also look for any damage to the cables/connections.

If none of these address the blank screen, please contact the Customer Care Center to get the display replaced.
