What value is expected when measuring capacitance of individual capacitors in a Powerlogic PFC capacitor bank?

Issue:

It may not be clear what value is to be expected when measuring capacitance for capacitors in a Powerlogic PFC capacitor bank.

Product Line:

Powerlogic PFC capacitors

Resolution

There will be a uF rating on the label of the capacitor. The L-L measurement taken should be 1.5X the value printed on the capacitor label. The photo below shows a typical label and where this value can be found.

Individual Capacitor label example

Example: BLRCH292A350B57, the capacitance per phase for this capacitor is 93.8uF.  93.8 X 1.5 =140.7uF

You would need to measure line to line (A to B, B to C, and C to A) on the capacitor and the values should be around 140uF -/+5% for each measurement.
