PowerChute Network Shutdown does not stop Nutanix cluster.

Issue:

When PowerChute Network Shutdown commands a Nutanix cluster to shut down, the cluster does not shut down as expected.

Product:

PowerChute Network Shutdown 5.x

Environment:

Nutanix AOS 7.3 and above with AHV and ESXi

Cause:

Starting with AOS 7.3, the terminal multiplexer (TMUX) is enabled by default when an SSH session is initiated. This prevents PowerChute from successfully sending the cluster stop command.

Solution:

Disable TMUX. Refer to the Nutanix Knowledge Base article for instructions on disabling TMUX.
