Operator Terminal Expert ModbusSIO driver, can not import Control Expert XVM file.

Issue:

In EcoStruxure operator Terminal Expert, using the ModbusSIO (serial) driver, it cannot import the variables from a Control Expert .XVM file.

Product Line:

EcoStruxure Operator Terminal Expert (all versions).

Resolution:

For now, EOTE doesn't support importing the Symbol Link from the XVM file using the Modbus serial driver (ModbusSIO).

The recommended solution would be to use the ModbusTCPIP driver and communicate via Ethernet.

If this is not possible, then the variables need to be created manually in the EOTE project.

With the ModbusTCPIP driver are not only the located address variables, but also the unlocated address variables are supported.

There is no plan to support this feature with the ModbusSIO driver in a future release of EOTE.
