Answer
No. Current Transformers (CTs) required for SmartAmp™ load management are included with the Schneider Charge charging station. A separate energy monitor is not required for SmartAmp operation.

The included CTs monitor the home's electrical consumption, allowing SmartAmp to dynamically adjust charging current and help prevent exceeding the available electrical service capacity.

CT wiring may be extended when necessary and, where permitted by local electrical codes, can be routed in the same conduit as the AC wiring.

Important: To enable SmartAmp functionality, the charging station must be properly commissioned using the eSetup application.
