The following error gets returned when trying to install a newer version of Control Expert on top of an older version.
Error 1720. There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A script required for this install to complete could not be run. Contact your support personnel or package vendor. To resolve the issue,
- Open the folder named 'C:\Program Files (x86)\Schneider Electric'
- Delete the folder for the old version of Control Expert.
- If the folder cannot be deleted, resolve the trusted access rights issue and retry.
- If the folder still cannot be deleted, open the Control Expert folder and delete the contents.
- Reboot the PC.
- Mount the installation iso file for the older Control Expert version.
- Run setup as an administrator.
- Select Repair.
- Reboot the PC.
- Mount the installation iso file for the older Control Expert version.
- Run setup as an administrator.
- Select Remove.
- Reboot.
- Install the newer version of Control Expert.
