Resolution
- Confirm SQL server instance is compatible with the PME version by checking the corresponding system guide underneath Operating Environment. The link here will take you to the PME 2024 compatibility list: Operating Environment
- Follow the directions for a SBS upgrade for distributed systems. Ignore step 8. Step 2 - Transfer the Configuration
- Now that an archive has been taken, a system key has been generated and the databases have been transferred, the old version of PME must be uninstalled. Follow the instructions in the article "How to uninstall Power Monitoring Expert (PME) | Schneider Electric USA ". Do NOT skip steps as a clean uninstall is crucial to a successful migration.
- Install the new version of PME as a distributed system, pointing to the new database server. Installing the PME software
- After successful installation, detach and delete the freshly installed databases. Restore the old database backups.
- Open the CMTool, Load from Archive, and Write to System. Resolve any errors that you encounter.
- After a successful write to system, reconfigure the PME system.
