Can the Monitor Pro 7 password be changed after the initial installation of the software?

When Monitor Pro 7 is installed two services are configured to run on the computer. They are the FactoryLink AutoStart service and the Factorylink License Manager. These two services must be running in order for Monitor Pro 7 to work correctly. Monitor Pro 7 uses the account and password that installed the software package to start these services. When the password is changed, it does not propagate down to the services. This means that Monitor Pro can no longer start the services that it requires to run.

The fix is very simple. Please follow these steps depending on your operating system.

Windows NT 4.0

1. Open the Control Panel.
2. Double click on the Services icon.
3. Select the FactoryLink AutoStart service.
4. Click on the Startup button.
5. Change the password for the "Log on As" account to match the password for logging into windows.
6. Click on the start button to start the service.
7. Repeat the steps for the FactoryLink License Manager.
8. Restart the computer.
9. Start Monitor Pro 7.

Windows 2000

1. Open the Control Panel.
2. Double click on the Administrative Tools icon.
3. Double click on the Services icon within Admistrative Tools.
4. Double click on the FactoryAutostart service.
5. Select the "Log On" tab from the Properties Dialog box.
6. Change the password for the log on account to match the password for logging into the computer.
7. Repeat the steps for The FactoryLink License Manager.
8. Restart the computer.
9. Start Monitor Pro 7.
