73xx V283 Firmware Release Notes

One would like to know what changes and fixes were adding to firmware V283.

This document outlines all the fixes and issues discovered due to the Revenue Locked List Fire. See ECO 1527 for details on testing and the people involved.
SCR 472: Integrator output registers of Revenue Locked 73xx/93xx can be written to.
Symptoms:
It has been found that when a 73xx is revenue locked you can still write values to the output registers of the locked Integrator modules.
It is possible to write to the output registers of the Integrator modules by using one of two methods. The two methods in ION Setup are the Reg Edit feature located in basic view or writing to the output register directly in advanced view using Shift click.
The possible affected customers are:
Customers that order Security option 2 or 6 with firmware versions between V270 and V281.
RMICAN orders are not affected because they receive firmware version V265 which does not have the Reg Edit feature.
Fix
Adding the output registers of the Integrator modules to the Locked List corrected the problem.
SCR 473: Display Module and Display Options Module can be altered in Revenue mode.
Symptoms
It has been found that when a 73xx meter is revenue locked you can still change the Display Module settings as well as the Display Options Module settings.
This can be done through ION Setup or on the front panel of the meter.
The possible affected customers are:
Any customer that orders Security options 2, 4 or 6.
NOTE: Display modules were not tested by RMICAN but it was decided that it would be practice to include them on the list.
Fix
Adding the Display Modules and Display Options Modules to the Locked List corrected the problem.
The following Known Issues are not new to V283. They are all issues that have been logged as SCRs at some time and are now being recorded in the 73xx release notes.
These issues may been seen in meters with firmware versions as early as V270 or earlier.
SCR 246: 7350 - HS Power Meter does not support Direct-Delta
The HS Powermeter (4 cycle task) operation is undefined for Direct-Delta mode. Usually it continues to operate in the previous mode it was in.
SCR 347: Modules can turn online with input handles linked to destroyed modules.
SCR 422: 7350--Using the waveform recorder will reset the meter.
The meter will reset if you perform the following steps in Designer:
- Drag out a external pulse.
- Drag out a waveform recorder
- Link the external pulse to the record input (must have a link here to turn on-line).
- Link V1 Data Aqc to the source of the recorder (must be linked to turn on line).
- Set depth to 10 and turn the module on line. This should work normally.
Next,
Record Delay Cycles to a non zero value.
Send and save
The module should reset, according to the SCR it will stop in a minute.
SCR 434: MU outputs do not update properly
MU kw and kwh values (and likely more) do not update properly.
If you apply power in single element mode, and watch the kw outputs of the MU power meter, then clear then turn the Rotek outputs off, the kw MU registers do not go to 0, they hold their old values.
This is present in 7330 V270 and V272 for sure, and possibly in older firmware as well.
SCR 453: "Negative" current peaks are not checked for A/D saturation
Internal circuit DC offset or even harmonics (eg. from half-wave rectified load) could result in the meter staying with the low-current gain stage even though the A/D is saturated.
SCR 454: One second measurements can be ignored. Meter reports previous second data
SCR 461: DNP - Polling data in one Class can set an overflowed event buffer in another Class to "not overflow" ie, from <0 to 0.
SCR 462: DNP - The meter occasionally returned "unknown exchange" on data poll in different Classes.
