The ``DM`` suffix means Domestic Manufacture for low voltage dry type distribution transformers. If the Buy American Act applies, then any of our standard transformer manufacturing locations is considered Made In America. To comply with the Buy American act, the value of the entire job, the value of the entire property, land, building, gear, lighting, plumbing, HVAC, landscaping, parking... the entire government authorized funded amount, is at least $6.900,500.00. The key to remember here is that it is not the value of the electrical equipment that needs to be over that value, but the value of the entire project.
You should request that information from the governmental funding agent, not the contractor or specifying engineer. With the ``DM`` suffix, the transformer spec does not change.
