Issue:
I connected a DVI-D to HDMI converter to display the HMIG5U onto a TV monitor but there is no signal on the TV. Why?
Product Line:
HMIG5U
Resolution:
DVI-D output on the HMIG5U does not support Hot Plug Detect (HPD). Even when the main unit power is on while connected to an external display, this product outputs the display signal as XGA. If the external display does not support XGA Input, the screen will not display.
In other words, both the DVI-D to HDMI converter and the TV has to support the XGA (1024 x 768) resolution. If it does not support the XGA resolution, it will not see the signal properly. We recommend getting a DVI-D to HDMI converter and TV that will support the XGA resolution.
