Issue:
How can you find out the current rating of a transformer?
Product Line:
LV Transformers
Environment:
Applies to Low Voltage Transformers by SquareD/Schneider Electric
Resolution:
For a three phase Transformer, divide VA rating (10 KVA = 10,000VA) of the transformer by the the load line-to-line voltage and by 1.732 (the square root of 3,). For a single phase Transformer, divide KVA rating of the transformer by the the load line-to-line voltage.
Example: Three phase 10KVA = 10,000 /240/1.73 = 24A. for Single phase - 10,000/240 = 41.66A
