Is is possible to use a Transformer to get a three phase output from a single phase source?

Issue:
Single phase utility supplies do not provide the phase profile required by three phase loads

Product Line:
LV Transformers

Environment:
Applies to LV Transformers by SquareD/Schneider Electric

Cause:
Three phase loads must often be serviced by a single phase utility supply

Resolution:

No, a static device, such as a Transformer, can not generate the phase angle differences required for a three phase output. To create the two additional phases requires some sort of active device, of which a phase converter is one example.
