Issue
In ION meters such as PM8000, users may notice that the voltage or current magnitudes displayed in the Phasor Diagram differ from the real-time values shown on the meter’s webpage, display, or in ION Setup.

Resolution
The difference between values shown in the Phasor Diagram and real-time readings on the meter’s webpage, display, or in ION Setup is expected and results from different calculation methods. This is normal behavior and does not indicate any meter error.
Phasor Diagram displays fundamental frequency components only (50/60 Hz), excluding all harmonics. This provides a clean sinusoidal representation for power quality and phase angle analysis.
Real-Time Readings (webpage, ION Setup, meter display) show true RMS values, which include the fundamental plus all harmonic components and noise. This results in higher RMS values compared to the phasor diagram.
In summary:
Phasor values = fundamental only
Real-time values = fundamental + harmonics
Here is an example illustrating the difference in current values: one shows the fundamental component (I1) in both the Phasor Diagram and the Harmonics Measurement Module (Magnitude 1), while the other, a real-time value, shows the total RMS value that includes the fundamental plus all harmonic components.
