Cause
While troubleshooting an suspected permissions or configuration issue, it may be necessary to view and verify a particular Active Directory User's account information in order to determine there are no issues with the account and/or the account has been configured with appropriate parameters. (i.e. the password has not expired or recently been changed and the User has been included in the appropriate groups)
Resolution
From a computer that is a member of the domain, open a command-prompt and run the following command replacing <user name> with the name
of the user you are interested in.NET USER "<user name>" /DOMAIN
This same command can retrieve the local computer user account information as well by removing the /DOMAIN parameterand providing the name of a local user's account.
